On November 16, an offshore oil platform dumped 250,000 litres of crude oil off the coast of Newfoundland. It’s the worst spill in the history of the province.

The oil leaked from the SeaRose, an FPSO operated by Husky Energy.

FPSOs are huge ships. They’re used as portable oil platforms.

Offshore oil wells are on the sea floor. Oil companies moor the ships in an oil field.
