The Yukon Quest is on. Seventeen teams have entered this long-distance dogsled race. Ten teams are running the 680-kilometre course. Seven signed up for the 280-kilometre race.

They hit the trails February 2, after a ceremonial start in Whitehorse the previous day.

It will take one to three days for all the teams to cross the finish line. The purse for the race is $60,000. The winner gets $12,000. Teams that finish the race split the rest.
