What do you want to be when you grow up? Zhawanoogbiik Danielle Riley has dreamed of being a vet since she was six.

Now she’s 18 and she’s following that dream. She is studying to be a vet at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.

Ms. Riley grew up on her family’s ranch at Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, near London, Ontario. She has loved animals for as long as she can remember.

“I was riding horses from a very young age,” she said.

But her passion didn’t end with horses.
