Fifty years ago, a Saskatchewan farmer reported seeing UFOs. It’s known as “The Langenburg Event.” It’s one of North America’s most famous UFO sightings.

The Royal Canadian Mint shares that sighting on a new collectible coin. “The Langenburg Event” is the Mint’s seventh coin in a series called Canada’s Unexplained Phenomena.

An unexplained sighting

Edwin Fuhr lived on a farm in Langenburg, a town 220 kilometres east of Regina. On the morning of September 1, 1974, he was working in his canola field.
