November 11 is Remembrance Day. We wear poppies and make wreaths. Canadian flags fly at half-mast. At 11:00, we have two minutes of silence. But who do we remember and why?
More than two million reasons
More than 2.3 million people have served Canada in times of war, conflict, and peace. Soldiers, sailors, and pilots. Nurses and medics.
More than 118,000 of them died in foreign lands. They were fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives. Their families never saw them again.
