There’s a new way to stay fit, have fun, and blow off steam. It’s a full-contact fighting sport called buhurt.

Buhurt is medieval armed combat. The name comes from the Old French word “béhourd” which means “to wallop.”

A walloping good time

In buhurt, “walloping” is the name of the game. Like knights in the Middle Ages, fighters wear steel armour and helmets. They whack each other with swords and axes. They also punch and kick, wrestle and shove.
